___ Houston Baptist University inducted 30 new members into its Walk of Honor recently. Begun in 1997, the Walk of Honor serves as a lasting memorial to individuals who have exhibited qualities of service to the school, its mission and goals. | CHRIS BRANAN, Mary Willis and Chris Shirley were among 109 people who attended the Ministry Multipliers conference sponsored by LifeWay Christian Resources' church resources division Jan. 21-23. Branan is from Moriarty, N.M., Willis from Birmingham, Ala., and Shirley is associate pastor of Wedgwood Church in Fort Worth. Ministry multipliers are people who are not LifeWay employees, but who lead LifeWay-sponsored training events around the country. ___Retiring
___ Taylor Rankin, as senior professor of biology at Hardin-Simmons University, at the end of the spring term. Rankin joined the school's faculty in 1969 and is capping a 34-year teaching stint at HSU and a 43-year career in education. He served the school for 26 years as head of the department of biology. He has served as a faculty leader, serving as faculty president from 1982 to 1984. He also received the Cullen Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1982 and had an HSU greenhouse named in his honor. He plays mountain dulcimer for the band Catclaw Creek. He and his wife, Libby, are members of First Church in Abilene.

___ Charles Wade, executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, will answer questions during a forum at Calvary Church in Friona Saturday March 8, at 7 p.m. He also will preach in the Sunday morning service the next day.
___Death
___ Paul Meadows, 67, Jan. 29 in Phoenix, Ariz. Meadows served several churches including Crims Chapel in Henderson and Flint Church in Flint. At the time of his death, he was pastor of a church in Dinosaur, Ariz. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Rebecca; son, Michael; sister, Janis Howell; and brother, Carl.
