___ Hill Country help given. Hill Country Baptists offered warm hospitality to nearly 100 truck drivers and motorists stranded in Kerrville when an ice storm paralyzed Central Texas. When roads in the region became impassible last week, 93 18-wheelers and assorted cars spent the night parked at the Wal-Mart in Kerrville. Tomas Brown, assistant manager and a layman at First Baptist Church in Ingram, contacted Hill Country Baptist Association. Director of Missions Jim Leak dispatched the association's disaster relief shower unit. With Wallace Hucabee and Steve Skipper from First Baptist Church of Bandera and Jim Morris from First Baptist Church in Kerrville, Leak set up the unit in the store's parking lot, offering hot showers to the stranded travelers. Brown also offered his unexpected guests free coffee and donuts.
___ Correction: An article in last week's Standard about the Emerging Church Network contained an error. The e-mail contact for more information should have been listed as s_cofield@bgct.org.
