| FIRST CHURCH IN CISCO recently broke ground for a multi-purpose building that will contain classrooms, fellowship hall, a gymnasium and a kitchen. The construction is being funded through a large donation made to the church in the 1960s as well as individual donations of members. The gift of nearly 40 years ago has been invested with the Baptist Small Church Loan Fund, benefiting many small churches and missions since that time. The church has used the interest from the investment for mission projects of its own during that time, including trips to Mexico for the past 25 years. Gayle Baucum is interim pastor. |

Historical memorabilia will be on display with a meal following at 6:15 p.m. Live music will be performed from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Paul Powell will be the guest speaker for the Sunday morning service. There also will be a time for testimonies as well as comments from former pastors E.L. Dozier, Jack Conley and James Rutledge. A lunch will follow. Robert Davenport is pastor.

___ Herbert Walthall, 94, April 27 in Dallas. He was a member of Hampton Place Church in Dallas for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen. He is survived by his daughter, Joan Bowden; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Ann Nieman.
