Baptists Preaching is a column from the Baptist Standard. It is not an effort to advance any one theology or style but to present what a collection of Baptists considers a word from God. Likewise, Baptists Preaching offers a repository of Baptist preaching for future study and research. To recommend a sermon to be featured in Baptists Preaching, please contact [email protected].

Aaron Summers: Jump! Will we trust God when he doesn’t tell us where we are going? (Genesis 12:1-4)

Aaron Summers

Aaron Summers, pastor of First Baptist Church in Crowley, Texas, challenges his hearers to consider the degree to which they will trust God when God tells them to go somewhere or do something, challenging our prejudices and preconceived ideas. He addresses the question many are asking, “Why doesn’t God tell us where we’re going when God calls us to go?” The question God asks, however, is, “Will you trust me?”

This sermon was delivered during the morning worship service at First Baptist Church in Crowley on October 28, 2018, as the first of a series titled Jump! Following God when it doesn’t make sense. Sermon audio, outline and power point are available.
