Baptists Preaching is a column from the Baptist Standard. It is not an effort to advance any one theology or style but to present what a collection of Baptists considers a word from God. Pastor Joseph Fields: Saved, Sealed and Secured (Romans 8:31-39)

Pastor Joseph Fields, senior pastor of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Lewisville and a member of the Baptist Standard board of directors, reminded his hearers salvation is secure in the labor, life and love of Christ. And Christ’s love is everlasting.

Fields also reminded his hearers the security of their salvation means no one can sit in judgment of them except God, since only Jesus died for them. Jesus also is the only person to conquer death and continues to secure salvation at the right hand of God. Furthermore, Jesus stands as the Christian’s advocate before the throne.

Nothing separates the Christian from God. And Jesus doesn’t give up on those who belong to him, enabling them to be more than conquerors.

This sermon was delivered Oct. 10, 2021, for the morning worship service of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Lewisville. It is the second part of a series on the New Testament book of Romans.
