Baptists Preaching is a column from the Baptist Standard. It is not an effort to advance any one theology or style but to present what a collection of Baptists considers a word from God. Likewise, Baptists Preaching offers a repository of Baptist preaching for future study and research. To recommend a sermon to be featured in Baptists Preaching, please contact [email protected].

Rev. Henry H. Batson III: The Power of a Level Up Testimony (Acts 26:1-6, 12-18, 24-29, NKJV)

Rev. Henry H. Batson III

Rev. Henry H. Batson III, pastor of Red Oak Faith Fellowship in Red Oak, Texas, appeals to and develops Paul’s testimony spoken to Festus and King Agrippa to stir his hearers to appropriate the power of their own personal testimony. Paul was changed by God, with most of the New Testament resulting from that change. Rev. Batson asks his hearers what it could have been about Paul’s testimony that almost persuaded King Agrippa to become a Christian and what it might be about their own testimony that could persuade others to become Christians.

This sermon was delivered during the morning worship service at Red Oak Faith Fellowship in Red Oak on December 30, 2018, as a precursor to the New Year’s Eve Watch Night.
