License Agreement for Submissions

Your ability to submit any news articles, photographs, illustrations, or other materials (collectively, “Materials”) to The Baptist Standard Publishing Company (“Publisher”) for possible publication is conditioned on your acceptance of the License Agreement for Submissions (“Agreement”). The following is a summary of the Agreement.

You are encouraged to carefully review the Agreement in its entirety before you accept it.***

Under the Agreement . . .

1. You give Publisher permission to use in various ways the Materials that you submit to Publisher for possible publication, and you agree not to expect any monetary compensation for those uses. You are licensing those rights to Publisher on an “exclusive” basis for a limited period of time, after which the license will become “non-exclusive.” You will retain ownership of the Materials.
2. You guarantee to Publisher that you own and can license all of the rights in the Materials and make related representations and warranties.
3. If any of the Materials are not your own (e.g., if you do not own the copyright in a photograph that you submit to Publisher), then you must immediately disclose that fact to Publisher (and, in any event, no later than when you submit it to Publisher) and assist Publisher in its efforts to secure the necessary permissions to use it.
4. If you breach the Agreement and that breach causes Publisher or its licensees to incur costs, legal fees, or other expenses, then you agree to reimburse them for certain things.
5. You cannot revoke any of the rights granted under the Agreement once you accept it.
