High school students attended Dallas Baptist University’s ServantU camp July 20-25. The camp offers students an opportunity to take a deeper look at career goals and gain insight into how they might be able to serve on a local, national and international level, said Andrew Briscoe, DBU director of servant-learning. Based on their desired field of study, students choose to participate in one of five tracks, which are geared toward providing insight in the classroom and serving opportunities in the city. The five tracks were life influencers, for students pursuing ministry; artists of impact, for visual and music vocations; peacemakers, for medical professions; city builders, for business and public service; and equippers, for education. The students attended worship services each morning and participated in workshops led by DBU professors. Afternoons featured projects and educational tours across the city.
