Howard Payne University will hold homecoming activities Oct. 4-6. Alumni and visitors can register for activities by clicking here. Approximately 40 events will be held throughout the weekend, including the homecoming convocation at 2 p.m. Friday when the homecoming queen and princess will be named, a 10 p.m. Friday fireworks display, the 11 a.m. Saturday homecoming parade and the 2 p.m. Saturday football game.
A golf tournament benefitting OrphanCare International, the humanitarian aid program of Dillon International, will be held 
Oct. 15 at The Tribute Golf Club in The Colony. John Luke and Courtney Spitler, parents of two adopted children from Korea, organized the Give Hope Golf Classic. A long-drive exhibition as well as a $10,000 hole-in-one competition and prizes also will be a part of the event. Jerry Bradley received the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Bradley served 21 years with Children At Heart Ministries, most recently as president and CEO before retiring in 2011.
Baptist University of the Américas presented an honorary doctorate to Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.
East Texas Baptist University has added seven faculty members: Tommy Sanders, assistant provost and associate professor of religion; Kristin Butterworth, assistant professor of chemistry; David Deel, instructor of psychology; Julie Leming, assistant professor of nursing; Allyn Lueders, assistant professor of communication studies; Tessa McFarland, assistant professor of nursing; and Troy White, assistant professor of English.
Earl Crisp has joined the Dallas Baptist University faculty as assistant professor of business. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie.

Eastridge Baptist Church in Red Oak, 80th, Oct. 27. The church will hold revival services to mark the event, beginning that morning. A children’s event will be held Oct. 26 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. that will include bounce houses, carnival booths and other attractions. David Crain will preach in the 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. services Sunday. An open house begins at 3 p.m., followed by a barbecue dinner at 5 p.m. Revival services will continue through Wednesday, each beginning at 7 p.m. Jack Ables is pastor.
Westbury Baptist Church in Houston, 50th, Nov. 1-3. Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., a dinner for former and current choir members will be held. Choir rehearsals and a lunch will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, a fellowship time with former staff and members will be held, featuring refreshments and a church history presentation. Several former pastors and staff members will take part in the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service that will feature a reunion choir. A lunch will follow. Jeff Berger is pastor.
