Around the State: Institute creates alumni group

Bob Brooks has returned to Dallas Baptist University to serve as dean of the graduate school of ministry. He previously held three other dean-level positions at DBU, and he was dean of the College of Fine Arts at Hardin-Simmons University. He is a member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.

Buckner Retirement Services  hired Jordan Lovelady as a financial analyst and Terri Wimberly as hospice revenue cycle manager.

Ricky and Amy Board of Fort Worth, graduates of Howard Payne University, are in Thailand this summer, teaching and developing a community health worker training program. He also works with a Thai Christian school to incorporate technology tools into classrooms.

Anniversary

Tommy Stogner, 10th, as pastor of Oakville Baptist Church in Oakville, July 1.

Retiring

Gains Gardner as associate pastor at First Baptist Church in Rockport. He served the congregation seven years and was in ministry 10 years. He first served as associate pastor at Allen Heights Baptist Church in Allen, where he was ordained to the ministry. He also has served as a hospice chaplain. He and his wife, Mary, will live in Garland.
