Around the State: Super Summer session set at Hardin-Simmons

A Super Summer session will take place July 13-17 at Hardin-Simmons University. Anthony Moore, campus pastor at The Village Church in Fort Worth, will speak, with music led by Awaken. anthony moore123Anthony MooreSuper Summer is a learning experience for the young people designed to train them to be leaders in evangelism and missions.

BCFS, formerly known Baptist Child & Family Services, has named Cathi Cohen executive director of the system’s education services branch. Cohen will oversee the organization’s 91 Head Start classrooms in 24 sites in Texas. Janet Carrejo de Avila was appointed director of operations. Carrejo de Avila most recently led BCFS’ Head Start programs in Atacosa, Karnes and Wilson counties and has more than 25 years of experience in Head Start, a national program that promotes school readiness in children 3 to 5.

bill fishback130Bill FishbackHoward Payne University has named Bill Fishback to associate vice president for business and human resources. He also was named interim chief financial officer and will join HPU’s executive team as a member of the university’s administrative council.
