CBF missions coordinator resigns. Six years after leaving Shorter College to become top missions administrator for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Rob Nash is returning to the classroom at McAfee School of Theology. Nash, 52, has accepted a position as professor of missions and world religions and associate dean at the theology school located on Mercer University's branch campus in Atlanta. Jim Smith, director of field ministries for CBF, has been named interim coordinator of global missions beginning July 1.

Glorieta offers summer opportunities. Although LifeWay Christian Resources has scaled back operations at Glorieta Conference Center significantly, the facility near Santa Fe, N.M., is open for the summer. Fuge Camps are scheduled June 11-July 28, and College Week is August 5-10. Some vacation space is available during that time. Group urges diplomacy with Iran. Directors of the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America adopted a statement urging "diplomacy over bombs" in the United States' relations with Iran. The group asked the president to commit to "waging peace" and called on the United States and its allies to use "ethical, humanitarian principles" in responding to the threat posed by the prospect of Iran developing nuclear weapons.

One Texan on SBC resolutions committee. Kevin Ueckert, pastor of South Side Baptist Church in Abilene, has been named as the sole Texas representative on the Southern Baptist Convention Committee on Resolutions. South Side Baptist Church is aligned uniquely with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.

Teaching sites in China need volunteers. Volunteers for China, a Christian humanitarian nonprofit organization, has openings for college students and adults who would like to experience China by participating in a conversational English programs this summer. Knowledge of the Chinese language is not required. Fellows program launched for new ministers. The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship has launched a Fellows program designed to provide support, resources and encouragement for individuals in their first years of full-time ministry. The program is made possible through a grant from the Religion Division of the Lilly Endowment and is being conducted in partnership with the Center for Congregational Health and Center for Teaching Churches at Mercer University's McAfee School of Theology. The program's first cohort of 25 ministers will begin gathering in the fall of 2012. Applications for the program are available online, and the deadline to apply is April 30.
