Obituaries: Kenneth M. Cauthen and Delbert J. Lamb

Obituaries for Kenneth M. Cauthen and Delbert J. Lamb, two retired pastors from Woodville who died one week apart.

Kenneth M. Cauthen, 81, died Aug. 3 at his home in Woodville. He was born Sept. 5, 1935, and was a retired Baptist pastor. He served five churches in his 60 years of ministry, the last being First Baptist Church of Warren. He is survived by his wife Betty Cauthen; sons Ken Cauthen and wife Peggy; Tim Cauthen and wife Pam;  five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Delbert J. Lamb, 84, died Aug. 10 at his home in Woodville. He was born Feb. 17, 1933, and graduated from Chester High School, where he began his boxing career. He went on to win the Golden Gloves championships of Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana and the Junior Olympics title. He became a Christian in 1955 and was ordained to the ministry in 1960. He served as a bivocational pastor in Southeast Texas throughout his years in the ministry, the last church being Central Baptist Church of Evadale. He is survived by his wife Cecile Lamb; daughters Karen Lee and husband Ed, Beverly Elrod-Wilson and husband Bruce; Betsy Richter and husband Mark; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
