Obituaries: Sealy Smith

Sealy Smith, 87, Oct. 22 in Weatherford. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a tail gunner on a B-24, flying 13 combat missions over Germany. Sealy SmithAfter his military service, he was a television station manager in Monahans for several years before becoming a Christian and entering the ministry. A graduate of Wayland Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he was pastor of several churches, including a long tenure at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Weatherford. He retired in 2004 from First Baptist Church in Brazoria, where he was senior adult minister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; sisters, Katherine Hogan and Peggy McCoy, and brothers, Jim and Butch. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Conway and Jayme Parks; sons, Terry Smith, Greg Smith and Ronnie Warren; sister, Gayle Lynch; and nine grandchildren.
