Uldine Olive Beck Bisagno of Houston died Sept. 13. She was 82. She was born Jan. 15, 1935, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Paul and Velma Beck. She was a beauty queen in California at Beaumont High School, the Indio Date Festival and the Stafford Rose Festival, as well as freshman queen at Oklahoma Baptist University. She married John R. Bisgano Aug. 27, 1954, and served alongside him in ministry. She particularly delighted in being the pastor’s wife at First Southern Baptist Church in Del City, Okla., from 1965 to 1969, and First Baptist Church in Houston from 1970 to 2000. She enjoyed mentoring and discipling young women. She is survived by her husband of 63 years; daughter Melodye Jan “Ginger” Dodd of Fremont, Neb.; sons Timothy John Bisagno of Franklin, Tenn., and Anthony Joseph Bisagno of Tyler; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Fox of California.

Jo Beth Landrum Young of Houston—a pastor’s wife and mother to three ministers— died Sept. 17. She was 80. She was born to Katherine Cooper Landrum and G.B. Landrum and grew up in Laurel, Miss. She was voted Miss Laurel High School and received her high school’s highest honor, the Lauren Rogers Award, voted on by both faculty and students. After graduation, she attended Blue Mountain College. When she or her husband of 58 years, Ed, was asked where they met, either would respond with a smile, “We met as babies in the church nursery.” They both attended First Baptist Church in Laurel with their families and dated throughout high school and college. She served alongside her husband 39 years at Second Baptist Church in Houston where she taught Bible study classes, often on multiple campuses. Two sons, Ben and Cliff, serve on staff as ministers at Second Baptist Church. Another son, Ed Jr., is pastor of Fellowship Church in Grapevine. She is survived by her husband and three sons, as well as 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Kathy Landrum Sanderson, and husband Joe; a brother, G. Barry Landrum III, and wife, Charlotte; and sister-in-law, Debbie Young.
