Obituary: Clinton Wolf

Clinton Wolf, 86, died Jan. 2, in El Paso. Following his service in the Navy in World War II, he attended Hardin-Simmons University, where he graduated in 1950. He worked for Standard Oil three years, and then he began a 60-year Clinton Wolfcareer in construction and real estate development. Throughout his adult life, he was a member of First Baptist Church in El Paso. He was a former member of the HSU board of trustees and the school’s board of development, a lifetime member of the President’s Club and recipient of the John J. Keeter Alumni Service Award in 2006. The school awarded him an honorary doctorate of humanities in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joann; daughters, Laura Nichols, Sharon Lafayette and Julia Ortiz; son, Gene; sisters, Mary Ellen Boughner and Ann Eaton; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
