Les Chaney, 68, March 29 in Hondo. Shortly after making a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at age 35, Les Chaneyhe felt a call to ministry and enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where eventually received both his master’s degree and a doctorate in Christian education. He was pastor of four churches, administrator of Texas Baptist Encampment in Palacios and vice president of family ministry at South Texas Children’s Home. At the time of his death, he was pastor of Reagan Wells Baptist Church in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; mother, Cleo Lemon; daughters, Debbie Nelson and Lisa Rush; and six grandchildren.
