Marion Fonville, longtime Texas Baptist pastor and associational director of missions, died Feb. 4. He was 80.

Marion Fonville, longtime Texas Baptist pastor and associational director of missions, died Feb. 4. He was 80. He was born Oct. 27, 1940, in Lexington, Miss. He was educated at Howard Payne University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Fonville was pastor of churches in Pilot Point, Fort Worth and Houston. In 1995, he moved to Vernon to become director of missions for Bi-Fork Baptist Association. After he retired in 2005, he moved to Magnolia. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mandy. He is survived by his wife, Jan; son, Chris and his wife Melina; daughter Robin and her husband Brad; and five grandchildren.
