Gerald Thomas “Tommy” Billings of Duncan, Okla., former pastor and associational director of missions, died Feb. 26. He was 75.

Gerald Thomas “Tommy” Billings of Duncan, Okla., former pastor and associational director of missions, died Feb. 26. He was 75. Billings was born on March 24, 1943, to Tommy Coy and Clara Frances Hempel Billings in Del Rio. He grew up in Sanderson and Austin. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Corpus Christi and his Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He married Joan Elizabeth McGehee on Jan. 23, 1965. Early in his ministry, he was youth director at First Baptist Church in Caldwell and pastor at First Baptist Church in Christine. He also served churches in Kentucky and Oklahoma. He served 15 years as director of missions for Mullins Baptist Association in Duncan, Okla., and eight years as executive director of Guadalupe Baptist Association in Victoria. He retired in 2011. He is survived by his wife; daughter Charity Phipps and son-in-law Paul of Rush Springs, Okla.; son Christopher Billings and daughter-in-law Teri of Duncan, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and sister Janet Keesee.
