Texas Tidbits: Abilene BCFS ministry awarded grant

BCFS ministries in Abilene receive foundation grant. The Community Foundation of Abilene awarded $15,000 to Abilene Transition Center and Our House —ministries of Baptist Child & Family Services—to support programs for youth at risk of homelessness, substance abuse, poverty or various other challenges. Abilene Transition Center provides a one-stop shop for youth in or aging out of foster care, those in the juvenile justice system and others who need help to make the transition into adulthood. The center provides easy access to case management, counseling, education and employment assistance, along with life-skills training. Our House provides a safe haven for young men ages 18 to 23 and provides a pipeline into the Abilene Transition Center.
