Pastor Randy Wallace and First Church in Killeen opened a new worship facility. The church moved from a downtown site to a location that is more central geographically since the community has grown. The church retained the glass slab mosaic of Christ behind the pulpit as well as the old church bell, which was cast in the 1800s. The building also houses a library, education space, day-care facilities, a choir rehearsal hall and an overflow room for high attendance occasions. With an eye toward expansion, some of the sanctuary walls were constructed so they can be removed and the building expanded. The sanctuary as configured seats about 850 people.
