GEORGETOWN—Crestview Baptist Church members are seeking to give “a gift of hope” to their community.

As part of Texas Hope 2010—an initiative to share the gospel with every Texan by Easter 2010—the congregation is distributing 10,000 evangelistic multimedia compact discs in one ZIP code and part of another.

The Texas Hope 2010 CDs contain audio and video gospel presentations, as well as links to Scripture in more than 400 languages.

Seventy-five teams of two will leave Crestview Baptist Church each Monday for the next 10 weeks to distribute the CDs. While the teams are ministering, other church members pray continuously for the effort.

Pastor Dan Wooldridge said the work is part of the congregation’s effort to expand God’s kingdom.

“I expect God to take this and use it in his own way,” he said. “I expect there to be some conversations to occur at the door.”

To help with follow-up, Crestview is participating in Operation Multiplication, a one-on-one lay-led discipleship program. Recently, the congregation hosted an Operation Multiplication training event that assisted five congregations.

Keith Lowry, family ministry specialist with the Baptist General Convention of Texas Executive Board staff, praised Crestview Baptist Church’s desire to reach people with the gospel.

“They’re going all out and are looking for God to do great things.” Lowry said.
