BROWNWOOD– Forty-three Howard Payne University students gathered Sept. 24 around a flagpole on the HPU campus to pray as part of the nationwide See You at the Pole initiative.

Students at Howard Payne Uiversity gathered for the See You at the Pole prayer initiative Sept. 24.

The Baptist Student Ministry prayer ministry, led by Kayla Bill, provided some scripture (Psalm 85) and direction on how to pray for the campus, community and world.

See You at the Pole is a student-initiated, student organized and student led event that takes place on school campuses across the country. What started with a group of students in Burleson in 1990 now involves more than 3 million students from all 50 states. Additionally, students in more than 20 countries take part. In places like Canada, Guam, Korea, Japan, Turkey and the Ivory Coast, students are taking seriously the challenge to pray.
