DALLAS—Texas Baptist Men’s executive board unanimously approved a proposal to construct a new TBM building on property adjacent to the Dixon Missions Equipping Center in east Dallas.

The 8,000-square-foot facility will house ministries of TBM Retiree Builders, including administrative offices, construction equipment and tool trailers.

A new parking lot also will be added, providing an additional 85 to 90 parking spaces.

TBM officials plan to break ground for the building at the February 2014 TBM Executive Board meeting.

TBM Executive Director Don Gibson honored Fred Wiesen of Magnolia and Joe Lenamon of Fort Worth with “Finishing Well” awards for their lifetime service to TBM. Tommy Malone of McKinney, who completed his term as TBM president, received the TBM servant award.

The board elected Kevin Walker, executive pastor of Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth, as president.

Other new executive committee members are Everett Dodson, vice president, personnel commitee; Gene Wofford, vice president, policy committee; John Smith, vice president, finance committee; Lee Bevly, Damon Hollingsworth, Jerry Horn and Mike Wade, regional directors; Malone, past president; and at-large members Bill Noble, Bryan Finley, Joe Lenamon, Tony Garcia and Joe Stephens.
