Texas Tidbits: Barnett named VP for Buckner Children and Family Services.

Brad Barnett has been named senior vice president of Buckner Children and Family Services, effective Sept. 1. Buckner International President Albert Reyes cited Barnett’s business experience and his calling to serve children and families as characteristics he brings to his new role. brad barnett130Brad BarnettAs senior vice president, Barnett will oversee all of Buckner’s domestic and international child and family care operations, including its adoption and maternity services and spiritual development. A native of Oklahoma, Barnett most recently served as vice president of global operations for Adams Golf in Plano. Previously, he was senior vice president of operations with 5.11 Tactical in Modesto, Calif., a company specializing in designing and producing equipment used worldwide by first responders. His career also includes service at the Coca-Cola Company and United Parcel Service. He and his wife, Julie, have three children.

Royal Ambassadors make commitments to Christ at camps. Nearly one-fourth of the boys who attended Royal Ambassadors camps during the summer made spiritual commitments. With reports from three camps still pending, Texas Baptist Men reported 1,364 boys and 604 adults attended RA camps. Fourteen camps reported 324 spiritual commitments, including at least 126 professions of faith in Christ and 30 boys who dedicated their lives to vocational Christian service.
