Wayland campaign tops $10 million mark. Halfway through its centennial celebration, Wayland Baptist University’s campaign for campus improvements and endowments is well past the halfway mark in gifts. The Second Century Campaign has garnered more than $10 million of the $14 million goal in gifts and pledges. The campaign’s major objective is to raise funds for a new religion building, replacing the current Flores Bible Building. The new 36,000-square-foot facility not only will add classroom and office space, but also will include a chapel and a mission center to further aid the expansion of Wayland’s mission outreach efforts. The campaign also will provide funds to renovate Harral Memorial Auditorium, expand Wayland’s fine arts complex, update instructional technology in most classrooms and to endow scholarships, academic chairs and a Christian leadership program.
