Texas Tidbits: Lawyer to lecture on Christianity at HBU

Mark Lanier, founder of the Christian Trial Lawyers Association and author of Christianity on Trial: A Lawyer Examines the Christian Faith, will deliver the A.O. Collins Lectures Nov. 6 at Belin Chapel on the Houston Baptist University campus. mark lanier130Mark LanierLanier, a Baptist layman, built the 100,000-volume Lanier Theological Library in Houston as a resource for pastors, educators, scholars, students and Sunday school teachers.

Buckner and radio network team up to provide shoes. Buckner International’s Shoes for Orphan Souls project is partnering with Air1 Radio  to encourage support for the contemporary Christian radio network, while also providing new shoes to orphans and vulnerable children in the United States and around the world. From Oct. 21 to 30, Air1 listeners who make a pledge  of support to Air1 with a $40 monthly EZ gift also will help provide a new pair of shoes to a child in need through Shoes for Orphan Souls. In December, Air1 personnel will travel with Buckner to help deliver new shoes to children in need.
