Hello, Texas Baptists! I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving. It was great to spend time with my family. We have much to be thankful for.

I also was at First Baptist Church of Waco. Thanks to Pastor Matt Snowden for letting me worship with his congregation. He is a great pastor and great friend.

Just before Thanksgiving, I attended the annual Russell H. Perry Award Dinner put on by Dallas Baptist University. Don Hodges, founder and chairman of Hodges Capital Management, was the honoree. It was a wonderful evening.

The Lone Star Motorcycle Rally was a huge success. There were 1,060 in attendance, and 399 people made professions of faith in Christ. It was great to work with Golden Triangle Baptist NetworkGalveston Baptist Association and Trinity River Baptist Association to sponsor the event.

Also, visit the Baptist Building for our Baptist General Convention of Texas Christmas open house next Thursday, Dec. 11. It will be come-and-go from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. RSVP to Elizabeth Biedrzycki at [email protected]. If you’re in the area, I hope you will try to make it.

As always, it is a great blessing to serve you. I hope you remember to keep the BGCT in your prayers. In these days when faith seems to be unpopular, may we all remember the message we are here to tell and live by.
