Hello, Texas Baptists! I had a great Sunday at First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, sharing about the Mary Hill Davis Offering for Texas Missions. Thanks to Pastor Nathan Buchanan for the invitation.

hardage david130David HardageWe are so excited to welcome Delvin Atchison, former pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Waco, as director of Texas Baptists’ Great Commission Team. The team is a combination of our former evangelism and discipleship teams. In his new role, he will help the two teams merge. He desires to see the team work together to inspire enthusiasm about the Great Commission.

Thank you for your generous support of Texas Baptists  through North Texas Giving Day. We are excited to announce $36,900 was raised in just 18 hours. Donations for Project Start totaled $11,650, which provides a solid foundation toward our goal of $45,000 for the first year of operation. Thanks to the Communities Foundation of Texas’ contribution of “bonus funds,” this amount will be increased even more. The grand total will be announced when we receive the funds at the end of October. The Lord has truly blessed us.

I enjoyed being at First Baptist Church in Mexia recently. Also, our Executive Board met Sept. 28-29 in Dallas. I am thankful for these leaders and their investment in Texas Baptists!

Our Special Friends Retreat was Oct. 2-3 at Mount Lebanon Encampment. This retreat supports the mentally challenged 12 years of age or older, their parents and chaperones, and workers with the mentally challenged. Your gifts to the Mary Hill Davis Offering make events like this possible.
