Working with Woman’s Missionary Union

This week, I would like to share how the Bivocational/Small Church Association collaborates with various organizations to meet the needs of those serving our Texas Baptist churches as pastors and staff.

We have a long history of working with Woman’s Missionary Union of Texas. The WMU of Texas leadership has been such an advocate for the small church and its pastors and their families. I have called upon the WMU of Texas on numerous occasions to lead breakout sessions as they equip us in serving and in sharing their ministries and passion for reaching the lost and hurting for Christ.

WMU of Texas cares about the small church and those who serve in the small church, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Our association has the privilege of participating in the WMU of Texas annual meeting and missions celebration. I urge all small-church ministers to attend this meeting. It will encourage you, equip you and challenge you to do more for Christ. Pastors, please encourage your leadership team to attend this meeting. They will return to your church with a renewed spirit and will be better equipped to serve. I have attended this celebration the last few years, and each time I have become more motivated to serve the Lord.

The Bivocational/Small Church Association has the privilege this year to host an information booth at the WMU celebration. We will share who we are and how we can assist the small church and its ministers. It is my prayer you will texas baptist voices right120attend this year’s WMU of Texas annual meeting and missions celebration April 4-5 at First Baptist Church in Georgetown. Come by our informational booth during the WMU of Texas annual meeting and receive a free registration voucher to our upcoming Bivocational/Small Church Conference, held on the campus of the Baptist University of the Americas in San Antonio, July 11-12.

As always, I thank you for your service to our Lord, to your church and to Texas Baptists. Remember, God has called you to serve, but God has not called you to serve alone. Let us be your advocate, your resource and your prayer partner as you fulfill your calling.
