RE: Review: Baptists and the Holy Spirit

This review really hit home with me. When I was a young teenager, I dated a young man from a Pentecostal church. I was raised Southern Baptist in Waco.

I was deeply moved by the Holy Spirit in services at his church and shared my experiences with other teens at my home church.

I was called into the pastor’s office by the head deacon and the pastor and was sat down and “preached” to about how wrong it was for me to visit this other church and to believe in the nonsense they were preaching. They even went as far as telling me those who speak in tongues will go to hell.

I was appalled. How could Christians even begin to think this way?

Needless to say, that was the beginning of the end of my attendance at that Baptist church.

Thank you for the review.
