Letters: Texas needs a healthy BGCT

image_pdfimage_print

Regarding your editorial about the future of the BGCT:  Well said, my friend.

I pray for (Baptist General Convention of Texas Executive Director) David Hardage. It’s not easy leading in a time of such drastic change. I am sure he must wonder, “Why couldn’t I have been director of this convention 30 years ago, when things were more cut and dry, and denominationally-friendly?”

I pray he can cast the vision the convention needs to move forward, because I truly believe Texas needs a healthy BGCT.

Share faith & love with all people

Amen to Wes McGruder’s article. We believers need to be loving and caring for these hurting people, not fearing them because they don’t believe as we do.
After all, (Baptist pioneer) Roger Williams was shunned because he believed Christians need to share faith and love with all, even Indians.
