RE: Waco church to allow same-sex weddings

Josh Carney, the pastor of University Baptist Church in Waco, said the church’s unwillingness publicly to acknowledge LGBTQ guests created “an unsafe space for them.” The Scriptures and Jesus clearly reveal we should reach out and invite everyone to hear and see the gospel for themselves. This includes the LGBTQ community.

However, sin must be acknowledged and everyone given the call for repentance. This is an essential part of the gospel. It appears UBC has disregarded acknowledging the sins of LGBTQ lifestyles and the doctrine of repentance.

Repentance always creates unsafe spaces for sinners but lovingly shows the way to a safe space of new birth with Jesus.

Isaiah 3:9 is a stern warning of what happens without repentance.

Regardless of how many conversations and studies UBC had, they overlooked the doctrine of repentance and should reconsider their decision, or they will be promoting a false gospel.
