RE: Paige Patterson stripped of seminary titles and benefits

I met Paige Patterson years ago when I was still the pastor of a tiny church in the Panhandle. This, before I moved on to a church in Ohio and he went on to Southeastern and Southwestern. I sat next to him at a luncheon for NOBTS graduates at the BGCT meeting in Amarillo.

I don’t remember if we talked much; our wives helped serve ice cream after the main course. Indeed, I can only imagine how the conversation would have gone had he known I was already gathering material that would eventually become a book defending women as preachers and pastors, “The Place Accorded of Old: Questions About Women in Ministry.”

Patterson and his supporters do not represent all Southern Baptists.
