Parents should receive vouchers

I respectfully disagree with your editorial “Resist Abbott/Patrick reverse-Robin Hood approach to education.”

I believe it is the Lord who directs our steps as parents and lets us know which school environment he knows is best for our children, whether that is private, public or homeschool.

As a private-school administrator, I know many people who would like to send their children to private school but cannot afford to do so. Vouchers would allow these parents to follow through with what God is instructing these parents to do.

In Deuteronomy 6, we are mandated to teach children about God in everything they do, and I believe this includes what they learn at school. If someone uses a school voucher to follow this mandate, then they are following what the Bible is instructing them to do.

It is your right to say whether you prefer vouchers or not. However, I do not believe it is right to say it violates a mandate of Jesus.
