RE: Editorial: What does a prophet look like? and Christianity Today says Trump should be removed from office

A number of readers seem to have gotten their feathers ruffled because of Eric Black’s question, “What does a prophet look like?” Nowhere in his editorial did he say Greta Thunberg is a prophet.

One reader pointed out that Fox News didn’t say she is a Christian. Another said he identified real prophets because they were mentioned in the Bible.

I suppose the folks in Amos’ day would have accepted his preaching if his name had been in their Bible in those days. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

Now, we see Christianity Today has called for Trump’s removal from office. I have mixed emotions about this.

On the one hand, I am glad a Christian editor has the courage and patriotism to advocate Trump’s removal. On the other hand, I am saddened he waited this long to make this assessment, only a month before his planned retirement.

We have known about Trump’s unfitness for office for years, long before he was elected, so why didn’t the editor speak out before this long national nightmare was inflicted on America?

I think we should not only think about what a prophet looks like, but what a false prophet looks like. The Bible has plenty to say on that subject. I think there are more of these in America today than at any time in history.
