Savannah: A new spiritual high

Several nights ago, five of the missionaries—including me—joined in a special prayer time in which we all prayed out loud at the same time.

The power of the Holy Spirit felt in that room was indescribable. Hearing the voices of the girls surrounding me as they lifted up thanks and petitions to God not only encouraged me while I prayed, but also took my spirit to a new high.

Matthew 21:21 tells us: “If you have faith and do not doubt, you will be able to do what I did to this tree and even more. You will be able to say to this mountain, ‘Go, fall into the sea.’ And if you have faith, it will happen.”

Mark 10:27 says: “Jesus looked to them and said, ‘For people this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.’”

Those verses came to life for me, because by the next morning, our prayers were answered. The entire atmosphere of the house had changed. We laugh more than should be allowed at the silliest things.

The most hilarious girl in the house is the same girl who after four days being here had packed up her things and was ready to go home.God has performed a complete 180 degrees here. So, I dare someone to tell me God isn’t real. I dare someone to say he doesn’t hear our prayers and answer them. I dare them to say God isn’t good.

I just want to be around the girls all the time. Each of their unique personalities is beautiful in its own right. I can't even think about leaving them in just a few days. I wish I could stay longer.
