South Asia: God knows the end of the story

Praise God, three more girls decided to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

During a recent worship service, we observed the Lord’s Supper, and the pastor explained what it was. He asked if anyone wanted to make a decision and renounce the old and follow the living God. It took awhile before the girls spoke up, but when they did, it was beautiful.

This country is full of physical life—beautiful nature, people, green everywhere—but spiritually, it is like a heart barely beating. During communion, I was reminded that God is sovereign. God sees the girls in their suffering and is their comfort. He sees the pain, but he also sees the end.

I have broken down at times because it all becomes too heavy, but the Lord is faithful and reminds me he also cries with them, but he knows the end of their story. How beautiful it is to be allowed the freedom to share love and burdens with the girls.

Recently, I shared the story of Elijah on Mount Carmel with some of the girls. It caused such an impact, I felt led to challenge them to share the story with the other girls. They were thrilled at the idea. I decided they should do it as a teaching time during fellowship.

I helped them prepare, and they shared it. They felt so empowered, and there was a great discussion about the Hindu religion and our faith. After fellowship, some other girls came to us saying they want to learn how to read the Bible better and teach it. Others said they want to share their life stories. It is a privilege.
