Denton: Life is different, but God is good

Life is good—so good, but so different. Truthfully, I do not know how else to describe the change that has taken place in my life, but my God has been faithful.

I recently moved to Denton to serve as the campus missionary at the University of North Texas. I have been blown away by how blunt people here are, how exhausting campus ministry really is and how

That last one blows my mind. I have never been blessed as much in ministry as God is doing in my life right now.

My first couple of weeks in Denton were really slow. I was transitioning and getting the hang of things. Most students were not back yet, because school didn't start for another couple of weeks, but in walked a young lady seeking answers. She was having a challenging week. She had just broken up with her boyfriend, had a fight with her mom and filed for graduation. She was looking for answers. All of her life, she had grown up Jehovah’s Witness, but recently she began to think that they had it wrong. In high school, she had accepted Christ at a camp, but no one discipled her—until now. I have the privilege of speaking truth into her life and showing her what the Bible says.

For some odd reason, I have had a huge passion for sorority girls ever since I moved to Denton. The funny thing is I graduated from a small Baptist university. No Greek life there, that’s for sure. Every door I thought was opening to get in with these girls closed right in my face—until now. I met with a friend recently who was getting ready to leave to spend her semester in Kenya sharing the sweet news of Jesus. She was telling me about a friend she knew who she wanted me to meet. This friend went to UNT and didn't know Jesus. Her friend is in a sorority—one of the biggest on campus. God is so good. I hope to spend time with her soon. In fact, we have been messaging through my friend to meet soon.

Each week, I have the opportunity to disciple six girls, and it so sweet to walk with them and grow together. This week we are using our testimonies to share with people about Jesus. For some of my girls this is a really scary time. Please pray for boldness and confidence.

God is moving in Denton. He is so faithful.
