First Baptist Church of Stephenville, where Ben Macklin serves as pastor. Several from your Texas Baptist staff, myself included, participated in an event here in Dallas called Greater Dallas Movement Day. Leaders from across the community came together at the Dallas Convention Center to listen, learn and share about how to improve the city from all aspects, but to do so with a spiritual foundation.
Thanks to Pastor Chris Irving for allowing me the joy of preaching at First Baptist Church in Gonzales. This is such a strong, healthy and historic church. Kathleen and I enjoyed a wonderful day there, and I’m excited about the plans the Lord has for this church.
Our Texas Baptist Student Ministry is seeking and praying for almost 500 college students to serve as GoNow missionaries and campus interns for 2014. Your Baptist Building staff has begun praying God would raise up these students for this work. I’m asking you to join us in that prayer. Many of our future Baptist leaders will come from the BSM and, particularly, these special service opportunities.
Finally, we have begun having chapel in your Baptist Building every Monday morning from 9 to 9:30. You are invited to visit sometime if you are in the area. Most Mondays, when I’m in town, I lead these and would be delighted to welcome you as a guest.
More next time.
