Canada: Time flies when God is at work

It’s crazy to realize my fellow student missionary, Jonathan Burgess, and I have been in Mississauga four weeks. It feels as if we’ve been here much longer, because everything is so familiar to us now. But at the same time, it’s also gone by so fast!

At soccer on Wednesday, we had so many people we had to split into three teams and play it tournament style. It’s been amazing to see it grow from the first week, and now it’s something people look forward to every week.

It’s been incredible to see God move through us to build relationships with others. J.C. is a guy we met through sports, and he comes to a lot of our hangouts. We’ve had the opportunity to see the beginning of his curiosity in us, as well as in Christianity, which is just mind-blowing. Please pray that J.C. continues to be curious and takes more strides toward knowing Jesus.

After we return home, the church will host a free basketball camp for kids here. This is something we have been working for since we got here, trying to find courts, setting a date and working out all the details. Even though we won’t be here, it’s a good feeling seeing it all come together. We started advertising with posters and hanging out fliers in the neighborhood and already, we have 26 kids registered online. Please pray for the volunteers who will work in the camp.
