“The months leading up to this moment have been filled with many great times,” I wrote. “I've learned so much about what the life I'm called to lead is supposed to look like, as well as what personality traits are glorifying to God. Saying goodbye to friends and family in the last couple of weeks has been some of the hardest moments in my life. But I know that my calling goes beyond being sad about saying farewell to family and friends. I know that today and this last week was the first of many goodbyes that I will say in my lifetime."
In just the short two weeks that I've been gone, I know and understand one thing—that my calling goes beyond. Although many people will not embrace this truth for life, I have chosen to be obedient regardless of what trials and struggles I embrace. Even though it is not easy being away from everything and everyone I know, I also know that me being here is a beautiful sight to our Father.
Pleasing our Father means more to me than selfishly wanting to be home.
