Jay Cox became an alcoholic and addict as a teenager growing up in a small town in West Texas. After moving to San Antonio, he ended up homeless. A Salvation Army minister in San Antonio helped Jay reconnect with his family living in Abilene. After moving there, he began attending Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, where he found a community and renewed life in Christ.
