Baptists Preaching is a column from the Baptist Standard. It is not an effort to advance any one theology or style but to present what a collection of Baptists considers a word from God. Likewise, Baptists Preaching offers a repository of Baptist preaching for future study and research. To recommend a sermon to be featured in Baptists Preaching, please contact eric.black@baptiststandard.com.

Dr. Kenneth Jackson: Facing Crises with Christ (Mark 4:35-41)

Dr. Kenneth Jackson, pastor of Greater New Light Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas, and president of the African American Fellowship of Texas, exhorts his congregation to remember God is present wherever they are. Referring to the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, he said, “Even in this, God is available.” Jackson proclaims the same Lord who quiets the storm takes care of the follower of Christ who is in crisis.

This sermon was delivered live on Facebook on Mar. 22, 2020, during the morning worship service of Greater New Light Baptist Church in Lubbock. It is the second in a series of sermons.
