Kingsville: Depths 2015

Depths 2015 was the name of our fall retreat this year at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The retreat offered students opportunities to dive deeper into their relationship with God and learn more about who God really is and what he desires us to do. It was a good time to be removed from the distractions at school and be refreshed by God’s word and fellowship with peers.

Another project we took on was assisting two local churches with an outreach to their community. We helped Bethel Baptist Church with a block party outreach to the community, and our students invited people to attend and shared the gospel with them. Pastor Jorge Moreno reminded us, “We are the nets that God casts out to help bring people to his kingdom.” Our students left encouraged and moved by the words of encouragement from our brothers and sisters in Port Isabel.

Other students helped distribute clothing and food to families. They helped meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the families in Port Isabel. Students left amazed at how God used them and their gifts at the park outreach.

Depths 2015 was an incredible experience and helped us all grow closer to God in various ways. A lot of our students were able to step out of their comfort zones and rely on God and his power.  Our students were able to grow and truly examine their walks with Christ. We are excited about the things that God is doing at our campus and through our students.
